Team of Utility Construction Professionals

Justin Gruenenfelder

Justin began his career with 13 years’ experience from a large utility construction company. 11 years as an operator/foreman role overseeing projects in other states and Wisconsin. Projects ranged from concrete manhole rebuilds to rural plow trains, casing bores to reclaimed water lines. Electric and communication duct packages, wire and conduit pulling, duct rodding, and fiber blowing. His next journey included 15 years at a local electric utility. 13 years as the underground electric inspector overseeing projects ranging from pipe-type transmission, electric, concrete-encased duct packages, wire pulling, casing bores, and substation site work.

Jesse Hirsch

Jesse began his career at a large utility construction company, beginning as a laborer and working his way to operating foreman. He worked in the industry performing all aspects of underground utility work for 10 years, performing telecom and electric work, joint trench work, and manhole and duct package builds. He worked with manhole rebuilds, underground electric cable installation, and road projects. From there, he moved careers to work for a large local utility company where he worked for 15 years as a cable splicer, crew leader, and inspector. This path put him in a position to work on electrical projects, including low- and high-voltage cable installation, manhole and duct package builds and rebuilds, substation work, low- and high-voltage cable splicing, and energized work.

Together, their shared experience and roles have encouraged a safety mindset that has carried over into Hawken Utility Construction. We are grateful and excited to be a part of this industry, and we would look forward to the opportunity to assist you in your next project.
